Our Staff

The Staff at Reformation Lutheran Church is dedicated to supporting, nurturing, and love the children of God at Reformation, in the community of Lancaster, and across the world.

Christopher Girardeau

Pastor

Pastor Christopher Girardeau, a Clemson graduate (c/o '17) and Spartanburg native, and his wife, Ellen—from the Sunshine State—are still fairly new transplants to Lancaster.  Christopher is a graduate of Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary
(c/o '21).  Ellen and Christopher have been married for 12  years and have four adorable cats. They are also blessed with the joy of their life—their son, Arthur!

Christopher loves good theological discussion over a nice cup of espresso as much as he loves enjoying God's handiwork through the beauty of nature.  He is excited to grow and help others grow as a pastoral presence at Reformation and in Lancaster.

Patti Covington

Supply Pastor

Pastor Patti and her husband Larry Baker are recent transplants to South Carolina. They moved from Virginia in 2017 after they were married. Their household is strictly managed by a white Persian cat who rescued them in 2021.

Pastor Patti attended Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary and graduated with a concentration in rural ministry. She served a 3 point parish in the Page valley and then the oldest Lutheran congregation in the south in Madison Virginia. She is delighted to worship and fellowship with the family of God at Reformation while Pastor Christopher is serving our country on his drill weekends.

Between them, Pastor Patti and Larry have six wonderful children, eleven amazing grandchildren, and will soon welcome a second great-grandchild into the family. Traveling around the country to visit family is a priority for them, and they enjoy traveling around the world to experience other places and cultures.

Most of all, Pastor Patti loves Jesus and being part of the Body of Christ by serving the Church and our neighbors

Tricia Brown

Office Administrator

Tricia is a Lancaster native and resides in the Buford Community. She attended USC-L and York Technical College.

Tricia is honored to work at Reformation and enjoys witnessing the many ways this small church comes together for those in need within the community and beyond. Even though she is a lifelong member of Tabernacle UMC, where she is also an administrative assistant and financial secretary, she fondly regards Reformation as her church family.

Tricia and her husband have one daughter and son-in-law, one chonky furbaby, and one “grand”-furbaby. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, nature, and relaxing at home.

Jane Ballentine

Organist/Choir Director

Jane was born and raised in Lancaster.  She is a graduate of Lancaster High School.  After graduating, she attended Columbia Commercial College where she earned an associate's degree in secretarial science.  Jane has been playing the organ since 1970.

She is married to her loving husband, Jim.  They have two children—Jana Bolton and Jace Ballentine.  They are also the proud grandparents of three grandchildren—Micaiah, Kade, and Delainy.
